Daniel Ricciardo will begin the Australian GP from seventh on Saturday after his best day of the 2022 season.

The Australian achieved his best qualifying result of the year after reaching the third qualifying session for the first time.
Ricciardo and his McLaren team had renewed hope after Lando Norris moved up to fourth.

Rumors have erupted after the Formula 1 team recently decided to remove areas for the Drag Reduction System (DRS) from the redesigned Albert Park circuit for safety reasons.

Over the past 12 months, the track has been upgraded in three main areas to increase overtaking opportunities.
Formula1 officials confirmed on Saturday that one of the DRS areas between Turns 8 and 9 had been removed.

Some teams reportedly discovered this only 20 minutes before their final practice game on Saturday afternoon.
