Lewis Hamilton is feeling upbeat as the 2023 Formula 1 season approaches. Over the course of his 15-year career, the motorsport veteran has seen great success, winning seven world championships.
However, the British had challenging years in 2021 and 2022 for several reasons. He came up short of setting a record-tying ninth championship because of a contentious decision in the season's final race. Hamilton didn't win a single race, and Mercedes was utterly out of the running this past season.
George Russell, a new teammate, defeated him for sixth place in the drivers' standings after he won his maiden Formula One race in Brazil in November. However, the 38-year-old is confident that he and Mercedes can turn things around in 2023 despite the difficulties they have had over the past two years.
