Although a puncture in the final lap caused a large amount of lead to disappear, Lewis Hamilton won the Formula One race for the seventh time on Sunday at his hometown of Silverstone in England.
Hamilton continued his record of winning Formula 1 at Silverstone, starting from pole position and staying in control until several competitors' tires began to layer and failed in the final laps. Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas was second to Hamilton on the second lap when he was forced to pit due to a tire problem and finished 11th.
After one lap later, a catastrophe occurred for Lewis Hamilton. Hamilton then retracted to the checkered flag, his lead was reduced from more than 30 seconds to 5.856 seconds, defeating Max Verstappen.
Hamilton said: Following the corner, the tires are deflated. This is an exciting moment. Hamilton won three F1 races. "I'm just praying to fix it."
Ferrari's Charles Leclerc came in third, while Daniel Ricciardo came in fourth, despite having a tire problem on the final lap, and Lando Norris ranked fifth.
Norris McLaren teammate Carlos Sainz Jr. has also undergone a puncture in the final lap and fell to 13th.
Verstappen may have a possibility to win, but he pits with 10 laps left. This permitted him to set the quickest lap of the race and get additional points, however, he said that his Red Bull team also called because the tires don't look good. But P2 is a good result for us. I am satisfied with this.
This is Hamilton's eighty-seventh victory in his career, four before the record, set of seven-time champ Michael Schumacher. The six-time series winner won 3 out of 4 races at the start of the season 2020 and leads the championship standings by 30 points ahead of Bottas.
After British GP 2020 the another race 70th Anniversary GP 2020 will happen on the same venue Silverstone this weekend 7-9 August 2020
