Before the Miami Grand Prix, the directors of F1 racing Eduardo Freitas and Niels Wittich tested positive for Covid-19 and maybe missed the race.
While numerous countries visited by Formula1 have eased strict entry requirements imposed at the height of the pandemic, the U.S. requires that negative tests will come within the last 24 hours of entry.
Freitas would not have been in Miami, after participating in the World Endurance Championship at Spa Francorchamps.
It is understood the team was briefed on the situation at an F1 committee meeting on Tuesday.
It's unclear how the FIA will proceed if Wittich fails to return a negative test result in the time to travel to Miami, but the backup option is Herbie Blash.
