The Canadian Grand Prix is a fascinating race in the Formula One season each year at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve on Ile Notre-Dame. Max Verstappen of Red Bull has won this race the last two seasons, solidifying his position as the sport's dominant power in recent years.

The race was canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic; Verstappen has won the championship in the last two years. Currently leading the driver title standings by 31 points over Ferrari's Charles Leclerc, he is primed to tackle this week's race.

 Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton share the record for the most race victories in history with their seven victories in the Canadian Grand Prix. To surpass his fourth-place result from the previous year, this will be his last race in Montreal as a Mercedes driver. It is planned that Hamilton will join Ferrari following the 2024 season.
